Sidran Institute
Sidran Institute (www.sidran.org) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1987 by Esther Giller. Sidran Institute provides:
- Education and publications for professional and lay audiences
- Trauma information resources and
- Self-care/mutual support programming.
This international organization specializes in forging collaborative, multidisciplinary responses to traumatized individuals and families in settings as diverse as state mental health systems, jails, urban neighborhoods, and faith communities.
Founder Esther Giller has been quoted about trauma in Time, Newsweek, NPR, MSNBC, CBS HealthWatch and other media.
Authorized Risking Connection Providers
EPower & Associates, Inc.
This Nashville TN-based organization is authorized to offer Risking Connection® in multiple settings, including:
- Outpatient counseling centers
- State and local agencies
- Alcohol and drug treatment facilities
- Residential and inpatient settings
- Crisis intervention services and
- Faith communities.
EP&A also offters other technical assistance and trainings on topics such as:
- Self-care
- Self-inflicted injury
- Dissociation
- Symptom management and
- Trauma Informed Care Implementation.
Klingberg Family Centers
Located in New Britan, CT, Klingberg has managed TREATI (home of two of Risking Connection®'s authors) for a number of years. TREATI is now part of Traumatic Stress Institute, which is part of Klingberg.
This organization is authorized to provide Risking Connection in:
- Congregate child care facilities
- Therapeutic foster care organizations
- State and local agencies.
Klingberg also offers training in others areas such as:

Kay Saakvitne, Ph.D., is adjunct faculty at the Smith School of Social Work and maintains a private practice. For over 13 years she was the Clinical Director at Trauma, Research, Education and Training Institute (TREATI), where she taught Risking Connection.
Sarah Gamble, Ph.D.,is in private practice in Simsbury, CT. Her work focuses on using positive psychology to provide a safe and supportive relationship so that clients' strengths
can emerge.
Laurie Pearlman, Ph.D., formerly of TREATI, works to make sophisticated information about traumatic stress available to people without the on-going assistance of highly trained professionals. She has worked with Professor Ervin Staub in Rwanda since 1999.
Beth Tabor-Lev, Ph.D., is in pivate practce in Northampton, MA.
